Developing a polymeric semiconductor photocatalyst with visible light response.
A facile strategy based on the amidation reaction of anhydride and NH(2) group in carbon nitride polymer is developed to synthesize a new polymeric photocatalyst which responds to visible-light. The high photocatalytic activity may be due to the coupling anhydride groups promoting the separation of the photoinduced electrons and holes.

The p-block semiconductors are regarded as a new family of visible-light photocatalysts because of their dispersive and anisotropic band structures as well as high chemical stability. The bismuth oxide halides belong to this family and have band structures and dispersion relations that can be engineered by modulating the stoichiometry of the halogen elements. Herein, we have developed a new vis...
متن کاملVisible light-driven CdSe nanotube array photocatalyst
Large-scale CdSe nanotube arrays on indium tin oxide (ITO) glass have been synthesized using ZnO nanorod template. The strong visible light absorption in CdSe, its excellent photoresponse, and the large surface area associated with the tubular morphology lead to good visible light-driven photocatalytic capability of these nanotube arrays. Compared to freestanding nanoparticles, such one-piece n...
متن کاملVisible-light Photocatalyst - Nitrogen-doped Titanium Dioxide -
A new photocatalyst, known as nitrogen-doped TiO2 (TiO2-xNx), yielding high reactivity under visible light irradiation, together with high potential for mass-productivity, has been developed by using a highly time-efficient development technique that combines computational materials design with experimental syntheses. Under visible light irradiation, TiO2-xNx films and powders exhibit significa...
متن کاملNo photocatalyst required--versatile, visible light mediated transformations with polyhalomethanes.
A visible light mediated, but photocatalyst-free method for the oxidative α-CH functionalization of tertiary amines with a broad scope of carbon- and heteroatom nucleophiles using polyhalomethanes has been developed. In addition, the pivotal visible light triggered activation of polyhalomethanes offers mild conditions for efficient Kharasch-type additions onto non-activated olefins. Preliminary...
